Support Local Families through our

Preschool Produce Program

Investing in the Next Generation

The Preschool Produce Program is A year-long initiative that offers free produce and cooking classes aimed at providing young local pre-k students and their families with the tools necessary to develop healthy habits

Focused on Impact…

Finca Tres Robles was founded and built with the purpose of being a positive resource for our community. We focus on creating the most impact with our produce and work to find ways to better serve our neighbors. Early in the farm’s development, Ninfa Laurenzo Early Childhood Center, the local HISD preschool, sent a group of their pre-k students by for a field trip and we knew we had found a partner with whom we could impact the next generation.

Located less than 1/2 a mile from the farm and with the school staff having taken the initiative to start a garden at the school, we decided to help expand on the great work that the school had been doing to improve the health opportunities available to the children and families they serve. We developed and launched the Preschool Produce Program in the Spring of 2016, finding Sponsors for deserving families at Ninfa Laurenzo to receive free weekly bags of our fresh produce.

Monthly Cooking Classes…

Through the Houston Food Bank, these parents will also be able to attend free healthy cooking and nutrition classes on the farm throughout the season to help parents navigate ways to use the seasonal produce, some of which may be unfamiliar to them. We hope that through this partnership we can help the youngest in our community form healthy habits that will positively impact their lives for many years to come.
