Fried Green Tomatoes

Serves: 4

Time ~20 minutes


Ingredients:

½ Cup all purpose flour

3 eggs, beaten

½ cup yellow cornmeal

1 pound green tomatoes, slice ½ inch thick

½ cup canola oil

Kosher salt


Directions

  1. Place the flour, eggs, and cornmeal in 3 separate bowls. Dip the tomatoes first in the flour, then the eggs, and then in the cornmeal, flipping the tomato slice to get it covered to your preference

  2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add a few tomatoes at a time leaving space in between each. Cook until golden, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Take out and place on a (paper) towel-lined plate.

  3. Season with salt to taste.
